considered using Alt instead of pure Flux?

the boilerplate for standard Flux is rather confusing, I can't think of any really good reason not to use a library like Alt.

I've done a version of your react-seed with Alt instead if you're interested?
Simplifies things a fair bit.
I'll create a PR and if you like it you can use it.
