root element not working other than [ng-app] #88

In our angular application, we are having app-root instead of ng-app. We are getting timeout error when we give app-root.

Code:
NgWebDriver ng = new NgWebDriver(_iwebdriver, "app-root");
// ng.IgnoreSynchronization = true;

        ng.Manage().Timeouts().AsynchronousJavaScript = TimeSpan.FromSeconds(20);                        
        try { ng.WaitForAngular(); }
        catch (Exception) { return false; }
        return true;
