Discussion: Inclusion of rip logs

So when you rip a CD, for example with EAC, you also generate a rip log. In this log is a whole lot of information. It would be a neat addition to the album folder, and it would for sure add to the completion on digital libraries.

Great! Please leave your general thoughts on that issue thread if you have any. It's a surprisingly complex problem—there are lots of moving parts to make it work. Although it's a lot of work, I think the main thing that would be helpful would be to carefully read over the history of the various attempts and designs that have been proposed, distill them into a summary, and think critically about a way to proceed: a minimal set of user-facing features that doesn't complicate beets as a whole too much but gets 85% of what people want.
