The method name trifurcate was a bit tongue-in-cheek. It might be technically accurate, but it's a horrible name. On purpose, because I'm bad at naming and not a native speaker. Please suggest alternatives!
I guess one comment per suggestion would be nice to be able to vote on them.

trifurcate. I like it, it emphasises that one-of-three choice between the callbacks.

either, to emphasise the exclusive choice. Though it commonly denotes that there are only two options.
