Events beforeRequest and configRequest don't work when trigger on load

The next code doesn't show any alert nor logging:

  <button
    hx-post="/test"
    hx-on:htmx:before-request="alert('Making a request!')"
    hx-on:htmx:config-request="console.log('config request', this, event)"
    hx-on:logged-in="console.log('logged in')"
    hx-trigger="load"
  >
    test
  </button>

If I use the same code without hx-trigger="load" then it works as expected:

  <button
    hx-post="/test"
    hx-on:htmx:before-request="alert('Making a request!')"
    hx-on:htmx:config-request="console.log('config request', this, event)"
    hx-on:logged-in="console.log('logged in')"
  >
    test
  </button>

Is this an expected behavior?
I need to run some async js logic before making my request (adding parameters in the same)
