Can you open and play your MP42 video directly in a browser or do you only get a download dialog then? |

Yes. I can open the MP42 files directly in browser. Just not from BIIGLE interface. |

The smallest videos are around 20gb. If that is not an issue, I can upload one for you to assess what is the issue.

Could you perhaps provide an example video file? You can contact me at ***@***.*** and I'll send you an upload link.

Hello,
We have managed to upload the smallest video we have in this format (over 6 GB). It also displays an error about codec.
Tried uploading a larger one but was taking forever… I believe this one should be enough for you to assess the issue.
Looking forward to hear from you

Hi
Sorry for the late reply.
- Yes, the initial error was about mime type. Not sure how/why it is now showing a codec related error. MIME error is not appearing
- We store video files on a shared drive in our network. Our local instance is in our server and we have a computer where we store all videos. When creating project and volumes, we have tried both local tab to load (when using computer that hosts the files) or remote path (when using other computer over network).
PS: I am sorry but no… this video is not our property… as such you can not use it for anything else. What I can do is to try to get permission from the proprietary.
Cheers

The codec of your video is fine. I can load and display the video all right in my local development instance of BIIGLE. The error message you posted initially is about the file MIME type. How do you store the video in your local instance, on a local disk, in something like an object storage or as a remote URL? I assume that whatever storage method you use somehow reports the wrong MIME type for the file. I can suggest methods to test this once I know which storage method you actually use.
P.S.: That's some awesome video footage you have there! Is there any chance that some of it will be made publicly available? It could be great material to show off BIIGLE's video annotation feature on our landing page.

Hi Martin
Not sure I follow
- we have used storage disk tab when selecting choose file (no URL
- we used remote location using local://files/volume <local://files/volume> on server
None of the options work and the current displayed error is “The video file could not be accessed or the codec is not supported by your browser” both from the computer that has the shared folder and by a Mac that accesses it through the local BIIGLE instance on our server (via IP). The video can be played by browser directly if I navigate to it and select open with chrome, firefox, safari etc
Cheers

Does the video volume URL in your instance start with http or with something else?

Version: v3.45.0
Issue:
We are currently setting up a local instance in our server to use Biigle from our network. We have ROV and Submarine videos for annotation. ROV small cameras (
PARALENZ
) produce mp4 files with around4GB
andMP41
codec. We have no issues loading these files. However, our larger files from bigger camera set ups useMP42
codec and have between20GB
-100GB
. On these we can not load for annotation:Has there been previous reports/issues with
MP42
codec? can this be a file size issue?Thank you.
