Oh, when the tutorial was created we suggested to clone the "template" from github.
We should rewrite it.
(e0a277e is a start)

For the moment here are pointers to the according templates / solutions on github

I was trying to follow the tutorial to see what can be done with biojs2. For what I understand that tutorial "101" is quite unusefull because following it is not working, leading you to the point you start feeling the need to know more about what nodejs, npm, slush, etc are doing and you are not anymore following the tutorial.
I would say a good knowledge of nodejs, etc is a prerequisite of the current tutorial.

In any case I will try starting from the template you suggested

We are in the process to replace the snipspector tutorial with a simpler one

http://edu.biojs.net/graduates/basic_io/

Moreover the introduction pages have been extended, so that hopefully it is easier for newcomers to follow the tutorial.

So the only thing remaining on this issue is an amazing visualization tutorial, which is tracked by #40
