Hi there,
Do u know if one of tested davcal prodivers answers preflight request ? This is to be able to add appointments from browser in CORS context ?
Woelkli and Cloud Tab Digital aren't. It's not the responsibility of Nextcloud to handle that and I think those providers are just naively implementing it. It can't simply be for security reasons since you can do PUT request from anywhere else than in a browser.
May I will investigate in Nextcloud side to see if they talk about this concern in their documentation and encourage them to add it if it's not the case. Or may I will directly contact providers to encourage them to consider this concern since it's really trivial. But i'm so much surprise this has not been done yet since it seems to be a really popular use case for me. How in this world nobody already met the need to add a calendar event from a browser to an external davcal ? Additionally we need to mention that it's a bit suspicious that providers like Woelkli and Cloud Tab Digital which are exploiting OSS products do not already allow that before users complains about it. It's looks so much like they are providing free tier as an appeal product to trap peoples in an arm key like other proprietary technologies owners. Hey guys, maybe it's easier for me to rely on you but you are forgeting that anyone is able to deploy a caldav server on their own infrastructure since it's open source =).
Best regards to DavX community, you rock !
