Is Chromium self-aware?

Without further ado, I'm moving to the substance.

1. Sometimes, when I do a copy in Chromium, the AppleScript application chooser raises, asking, "Where is the application _Chromium?" I have yet to pin down the circumstances under which such a fault occurs.
2. Some 3rd party automation applications, most notably Keyboard Maestro, aren't capable of registering Chromium. As a consequence, its Chrome-specific actions cannot be used. The KM's log contains entries "file Google Chrome not found".
3. Only generic AppleScript commands and OSAX are usable. The ones that deal with Javascript are lethargic dwellers.

Is it Chromium-related or a byproduct of building Chromium Legacy? Can those be cured?

I don't use Keyboard Maestro, but I do make heavy use of Applescript, including with Chromium Legacy, and I haven't had this problem. That said, this could plausibly be caused by my Preference Pane, which renames the Chromium binary to _Chromium so that the app will launch with some additional command line parameters.

I'm not sure why renaming the binary would have this effect, however. LaunchServices shouldn't care at all!

...actually, speaking of, have you tried simply resetting LaunchServices?

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain user

Booting into Safe Mode one time (and then rebooting back into normal mode) should in theory have the same effect as running the above, in addition to clearing out some other caches as well.

No worries, the Javascript issue turned out to be imaginary. It was my misunderstanding of JS.
