I observed the maintainer, Christopher Schramm trying to solve individual problems. So I wish to assist him to have my problem solved too. I would be ready to post outputs from my system, if directed.
I too have a similar problem and want to solve it with cmst and connman. The details are below:
Recently, I have been successful in accessing my smartphone's mobile cellular internet network using bluetooth tethering from my smartphone, and from blueman with NetworkManager and nm-applet .
I had recently installed Debian 12.6.0 from LXQt live ISO. The said ISO has connman, its UI compoment installed, but notblueman, NetworkManager, nm-applet, dnsmasq, rfkill, udhcpd and so on.
When I accomplished the first internet connectivity with Bluetooth Tethering from my smartphone, I wasn't sure as to which of the packages were the just and only needed ones, and optimum, to set up the bluetooth internet connectivity, and not one extra package more. So I booted from a Live ISO pendrive, trying to optimally accomplish the steps of pair, trust, then bluetooth tethering and internet access.
Presently, in the Live system, I installed blueman, rfkill, udhcpd to try tethering. I can tether wirelessly through the smartphone's hotspot and with wired USB tethered connectivity, but I am yet not successful in accomplishing a steady connection with the Live ISO running from the pendrive.

There is another discussion with a similar subject, but not exactly the same response / terminal output:
Bluetooth Connection Failed: br-connection-unknown #2295
