How do I create a handle without the subdomain? (reinaldorauch.dev.br)

I already use that custom domain as my handle in bsky pds but i want to self host it. I installed it in na DO droplet but when I went to create it with pdsadmin it said that my handle was invalid.

The work-around for this right now is to use a different handle to start, and then go through the custom domain handle process (eg, in the app), along with a DNS TXT record, to use the simple domain name.
