  • priority changed from blocker to major
  • summary changed from Autotuning fails on Barts to Autotuning fails on AMD drivers

The original failure was due to a compiler bug in outdated AMD drivers. It now seems there is an intermittent segfault during tuning. The user originally hit it while tuning on Barts; I've not been able to reproduce that, but I've hit a segfault on the same machine while tuning for the CPU device.

  • status changed from new to closed
  • resolution set to fixed

The follow-up segfault is a bug in the AMD APP SDK, which still exists in v2.9 (it doesn't properly handle 3-element types as kernel arguments). I've reported the bug to AMD, and put in a workaround in 1.2.2.
