A lot of work on tokamak edge instabilities and their effect on turbulence using BOUT++ is going on at Lawrence Livermore National Labs. This includes work by X Xu, M Umansky, G Huijsmans, Y Zhou, C Ma, W Lee, G Park, and others. A list of recent publications from the LLNL group using BOUT++ can be found here.
