Can brave browser able to hide search queries and refer? Like adguard do? Hide your search queries Hide Referrer from third parties This two |
Yes, if you enable Aggressive shields mode. You can get even more query parameter stripping through dedicated filter lists.
This one is trickier since we've found it will often break websites. However we do apply a stricter referrer policy which you can read about here if you're interested. |
Brave does offer additional filter list options in
You can check the full set of lists we enable by default here. That does include
We don't enable that by default but if you add it as a custom list subscription in
Brave has a special permissioning feature for access to your local network, which you can read about here.
Generally if it's in uBO's set of default lists, we try to support it. There are a few AdGuard-specific syntax extensions that we've added support for in Brave, but generally I'd recommend using uBO-style filters as much as possible for best compatibility. |
Do you mind sharing which lists you find are better supported by AdGuard? We may be able to help with finding something that works better in Brave cc @ryanbr
I think they've improved slightly, but keep in mind that site has been misleading in the past (see here for more info)
Those lists specify update intervals of 7 and 9 days, respectively. If you see them not being updated for much longer than that, please do let me know though. |
ublock origin have all this default filter lists
https://ublockorigin.github.io/uAssets/filters/badlists.txt Just like emi said here
I am using this filters. Ubo style filters, Directly taken from ubo extension But I am asking about compatibility of these adguard but ubo style filters is because fanboy on brave's community said this on a post And on adguard filters(ubo styles filters) also have those rules alot Emi also said that fanboy said |
This says And it's updated But It's been like 2 and half months I haven't seen it been updated once Idk but fanboy anti font got updated thanks But here is the things that's I came to notice a lot means a lot from like 3 weeks This is same fanboy anti font but from different web browser same time but see it's updated time On that same browser in ubo this is the updated time it changes a lot sometimes browser shows filter is updated but ubo doesn't show its updated and somethimes ubo shows its updated and browser doesn't Same time with chrome it shows it isn't updated That was like its good updated and in ubo see that And see my time it just all same time and this happening And also I doesn't seen it happens with fanboy enhanced tracking list and fanboy Facebook list. And not seen it been updated in like 2 months @ryanbr please fix this problem and let me know that all fanboys lists can work in brave mostly I think yes but just let me know It changed again now in fanboy anti Facebook list from 2021 list to 2020 now |
Not related to filtering rules
But sometimes after installing manually have to enable. Is this a bug or something else. Idk that's why I just let you know this happens in brave stable ,beta and in nightly |
So far brave browser is the only one the best browser with default AdBlock. If you see ads/annoyance then you can report it in Forum or Easylist. You don't need to subscribe another annoyance filter such as AdGuard annoyances, Fanboy's Annoyances with uBo annoyances as supplement list works very well **Always set the AdBlock to aggressive for better experience |
Hmm your right but if the browser can be better so why not we just help them to make it better with this thinking I make this issue |
|
It have been reported to brave browser GitHub page and Devs are working on it |
