UI frozen when window maximized on Ubuntu #12588

Description

When I maximize window, UI is frozen (can't scroll, can't switch tabs, etc.).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch brave on Ubuntu 16.04
  2. Maximize it

Actual result:

Expected result:

Must be usable when maximized.

Reproduces how often:

Happens always. It started happening recently (since 2-4 weeks).

Brave version (brave://version info)

Brave 1.16.72 Chromium: 86.0.4240.183 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Other Additional Information:

  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? Yes, same thing on Chromium actually.

I made a comment on #12780, which seems to be similar. It appears to be fixed when disabling HW acceleration...

Is this still a thing?
And does the freeze happens just for a short while, or is it still there even after a hour?
