Play button disappears in videos

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open https://www.bbc.com/news/av/uk-59450988 with the site settings
2. Play button will display for 100ms and then disappear. The video looks like a still image and there is no apparent way to start playback.
3. A few seconds later, the play button comes back and the video can be started.

Play button should show until playback begins
