did you check against Chrome 69 beta?

good call @bridiver - I'm seeing the same on Chrome Beta. @kjozwiak can you confirm if you do as well?

Seeing the same thing under Chrome using 69.0.3497.81. Before I updated, I checked slither.io with C68 and it worked as expected. Once Chrome was updated to 69.0.3497.81, I noticed the same janky behaviour that 0.23.203 is experiencing. Looks like we inherited this issue from Chromium.

@bridiver should we just close this off as Chrome 69.0.3497.81 is also affected?

Yes, but can you file an upstream issue? Hopefully they will fix before the final 69 release

@bridiver looks like this made it into 69.0.3497.81 which was just pushed into the stable channel a few hours ago. I created the following upstream issue:

https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=880620

Closing off this issue as discussed on Slack. 👍

It looks like there was a regression with the canvas performance which is being fixed in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=872117.
