-OASVN Pro

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T820
  • Android 8.0.0 Oreo
  • Path: /storage/<card_id>/OASVN/<repo_name>
  • error Message "Ungültige Berechtigungen, um in das Verzeichnis zu schreiben", "Invalid permissions to write directory"

Since this behaviour is similar to some other Android apps writte for older Android versions, I guess the API has changed.

  1. Is OASVN still maintained/under development? (Last Update from 2012)
  2. Can OASVN be build from these Sources? I'm totally neither Android nor even Java Developer, but I guess this tool is absolutely worth the effort learning this stuff.

Yours sincerily
Nick

I tried to reach the author some weeks ago after the app stopped working on Oreo since it requires SSLv3 which was removed from Android Oreo. But I got no reaction.

I think it will be soon be banned from the play store due to violations of the play store terms (it is nonfunctional for latest Android releases and does not state that)

That's very bad news indeed. SSL is not necessary for my workflow (I only bought the PRO version for donating the programmer a small "thank you"), but no Subversion client any more will totally crap my workflow.

I checked out "Termux", a Linux-like command line system for android, which can install some linux programs, inkluding Subversion.

This implementation of Subversion seems to be feature complete. (I did not manage to write on SD-Card yet, though). I do not know, if it relies on the SSH implementation of Android, but maybe it's worth a try.

I've tried Termux now - seems to be a valid alternative.
