[BR] Command prompt doesn't appear in new terminal until after keypresses

• I have reset Atom to defaults prior to submitting report.
• I have not reset Atom to defaults prior to submitting report.
• I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the terminal.
• I have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling the terminal.

Description

When opening a new terminal, the command prompt doesn't appear until I press any key twice.

Steps to reproduce

1. ctrl-` to open a new terminal
2. Prompt doesn't appear until I press a key
3. After keypress, prompt appears at the bottom
4. Another keypress makes the prompt appear where it should be

Expected behavior:

Expected behaviour is that the prompt appears immediately at the top of the screen.

Actual behavior:

No prompt appears
Press any key to make it appear at the bottom of the terminal
Press any key again to make it appear where it is expected to be
