• Question or Goal: To submit datasets to open data portal, we need to fill out ESRI metadata. Let's make this process as painless for analysts and overwrite the XML in Hub (outside of ArcGIS), via dictionary/json.

• Research Required: Convert XML to JSON, supply a dictionary of values, overwrite the JSON, convert back to XML. This step is done in our Hub with Python, but the new XML file has to fed into ESRI + more arcpy steps.

• Expected Outputs / Findings: Automate more steps in adding metadata.
