Closed paths do not work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a path with any of the layout tools and try to make a loop
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The path should connect to itself and render as a 3D loop. Instead an error 
occurs when you hover over the same way segment as the start of the path
