We currently have an initial, incomplete set of mappings from the SNOMED terms in DICOM to the NCI Thesaurus (cancerDHC/operations#48), and need to chose a format to publish this to the CCDH website that would maintain provenance information. During our last internals call (June 3, 2020), we came up with a list of several possible formats:

We also determined that we needed OWL expressions to be allowable, as well as value set mappings.

This issue covers comparing these formats for our purposes and to translate the incomplete mappings into that format as a potential exemplar. If one of these formats works for our needs, that would close cancerDHC/operations#22.

If you want to see an example SSSOM file, we're currently storing mappings from SNOMED terms in DICOM in that format.

We seem to be using SSSOM pretty consistently throughout the project now. I'll close this issue now, but feel free to reopen it if we should reconsider this decision.
