how to show/hide tabset

hi,i'd like to control the show/hide of tabset. Is there any API that can achieve the purpose. Thanks for any assistance.

I am also looking for something similar. I want to show/hide individual tabs based on the availability of data.
So far I couldn't find anything in the docs related to this.
