3) Software for Gcode generation

The Cyclone project supports only free software (free as in freedom). Here is a list of the recommended solutions:

JScut

JScut is a lightweight browser-based CAM to generate gcode from vector image files (SVG). It includes a 3D tool-path simulator. Example: Mill the OSWH keychain

FlatCAM

FlatCAM is a gcode generator that takes Gerber/drill files. Very useful for the manufacture of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Example: Mill a stereo audio amplifier (load the included project file)

Blender CAM

Blender CAM is a powerful software that generates gcode from STL 3D files.
