System Info

  • Operating System: bionic 4.15.0-122-generic
  • Python Version: 2.7.17
  • Version of catkin_tools: 0.6.1
  • ROS Distro: melodic

Expected Behavior

Following #418 and #596, metapackages should be built and produce artifacts that can be installed.

Actual Behavior

The metapackage is ignored even if explicitly built.

Steps to Reproduce the Issue

catkin build metapackage

Version 0.6.1 does not include #596 yet. The change will be included in the next release. In the meantime, consider installing the package with pip.
