G'day!

Are there any plans at Cevo Australia on maintaining this - seemingly the only meaningful - integration between the two biggest internet companies in the world? It's an amazing tool and it's a big shame neither google nor amazon came out and provided something like this.

Many people/companies used to/are relying on this and now it has been over 2 years since the last release. Several bigger recent google SAML/SSO updates are causing this tool to break regularly. There have been multiple issues resolved or worked around by the community here: #281.

However it seems that this tool is not the way forward anymore as it's simply unmaintained and unreliable? Perhaps transferring ownership could be an answer?

@stevemac007 <--- for attention :)

I think this project is dead. Every other day, we are facing issues. We have to look for an alternative, I guess.

I had switched to ruimarinho/gsts a few years ago, but ultimately I can't recommend either of these tools - I'd strongly advise people to switch to IAM Identity Center, using federated auth (which does work with Google Workspace), as this is actually supported by the AWS CLI/SDKs natively.

I had some issues here due to the lack of updates, and since the project seems to have died (unfortunately), I looked for another alternative and found a similar tool that is meeting my needs without requiring major changes in the environment.

After running into the problems mentioned in issue #280 we switched to IAM Identity Center as mentioned by the other comments. It was quite straightforward to setup and doesnt have any effects on your existing IAM users/roles. You can then use the normal AWS CLI to login with aws sso login rather than using aws-google-auth.
