Hi all, Please bear with me in terms of replying to and managing standard name requests as (I'm sure everyone else is in a similar position) there are only two of us and some things must take priority (e.g. caring for family, childcare and other work commitments). Similarly, I think everyone will understand if discussions aren't as active and we need to adjust things accordingly. We will be in touch soon to discuss things going forward, in terms of the next standard name table update (tbc). Thanks, Fran |

Dear All, We plan to update the standard name table next week (beginning 18th January 2020). The planned changes can be viewed in full in the CEDA vocabulary editor. This is a final opportunity to comment on any of these names before we proceed with the update, so please take a few minutes to check the list. Links to the GitHub issues where the names have been discussed are given in the editor. N.B. I'm making this announcement ahead of time to reflect the discussion in issue #80 where there is general support for allowing a comment period between accepting names and publishing them. No additional changes to standard names will be accepted from today for a period of one week to allow for the comment period. Once this update is published we will begin accepting changes in preparation for the next one. Best wishes, |

@japamment @efisher008 as we are now using GitHub Discussions to announce new versions, should we close this issue? |
@feggleton I think it may be worth it to keep the issue open, so that it is easily findable when looking for which names were added in Standard Name table versions between v70 and v84. Technically speaking though, the content is "resolved", so there should be no activity keeping it open unless there needs to be a change to a previous version. What do you think @japamment? |
