Contributor List will silently fail if your default branch (e.g. master) is protected. This is due to the fact that GitHub Apps lack administrative permissions by default.

Possible solutions:

  • Make Contributor List open a PR instead of pushing directly to master
  • Allow the use of a custom PAT that does have admin permissions (will not work if pushing is disabled altogether)
