find API-based federation partners #90

Look at the set of services that provide similar functionality (papers, people, recommendations) and see which ones provide an API that would enable some degree of inter-operation (sync data in both directions). Prioritize the services based on value vs. effort. Then create new issues to implement those API connections where it's worth doing.

Slightly different direction, Boole's Rings is a small group of individual blogs that band together to federate their data. (I think this is a very good setting to test the wordpress platform without having to worry about as many details.)

More to add to the list:

Most of these have not seen much use so far, but we should keep an eye on them. Scicomp.SE gets a lot of use but only a few questions/answers discuss papers.
