📃 Iteration 40 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Inline images - support multiple images in a single block - this was already started but shall be finished in the next iteration
• Allow adding plugins to a CKEditor 5 build - merged 🎉
• Make editor placeholder behave like the native input placeholder - merged 🎉
• Inline widget styling - merged 🎉

Bug fixes

• Autoformat creates a code block when typing in bulleted/numbered lists - merged 🎉
• HTML elements with <font> tag cannot be loaded into CKEditor - merged 🎉
• Indent buttons order is misleading in all default build configurations - merged 🎉
• Crash when copying nested table which was pasted into the editor - merged 🎉
• A period does not stick to the preceding word during word-wrap - merged 🎉

Finally, there are some more bug fixes and minor improvements planned for the 40th iteration. See the list of issues assigned to the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for February 24, 2021, followed by releasing npm packages on March 3, 2021.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change and even though we put all our energy to deliver all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
