πŸ“ Provide detailed reproduction steps (if any)

  1. … Head to any wiki page
  2. … Click the standard "Edit" button

βœ”οΈ Expected result

The default markdown editor should be overriden

❌ Actual result

The default markdown editor remains - only a reload of the page allows ckeditor to kick in.

❓ Possible solution

Loading the wiki page with /_edit appended works first time, every time. This problem appears only when you hit the Edit button whilst in a page. Behaviour is the same on both Firefox and Chrome on github.com and I've also tested it on an enterprise instance of github with the same results.

Editing comments on issues and all the other functionality works great - it's just wiki pages I've encountered this problem with.

πŸ“ƒ Other details

  • Browser: Firefox 123.0 and Chrome 122.0.6261.69
  • OS: OSX Sonoma 14.3.1
  • Using the latest github-writer version (1.10.3)

If you'd like to see this fixed sooner, add a πŸ‘ reaction to this post.
