On first run without any parameters or config file, just cloned repo. ubuntu server. Perhaps I need to install something perl related?

Use cpan to install the modules

since you are on ubuntu you may need to run this as well:

>_get_pid_from_file or return;/g" /usr/local/share/perl/5.26.1/File/Pid.pm
