Hi,
we had a customer flag this but it seems a wide array of secuirty software flags the tmate shipped with the Jumpbox release as malware https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/d2fff992e40ce18ff81b9a92fa1cb93a56fb5a82c1cc428204552d8dfa1bc04f. So i wonder if we should drop it, given that we have tmux and thats a more secure way to work together in a shell.

Is it possible for you to provide a PR dropping tmate? It also seems tmate is not being maintained at this time given the last release.
