extension repeatedly forgets saved patterns

This extension has been losing any saved URL patterns. There appears to be no identifiable reason why. I am currently using Chrome version 117.0.5938.92 on RHEL8.

That's interesting, as I haven't changed anything in a while.
Can you please try to inspect the background page to see if any error messages appear when trying to save or load the settings?

I see no errors. This is what I did to generate the console view shown below:

1. delete an existing filter
2. save the filter
3. reload the rumble page that triggers the blocker.js

I don't know what else to try. This seems to be an intermittent and unpredictable problem.
