I'm think having the exercise be copy-paste of the same code with different arguments is a missed opportunity. Recommend have them write the "loop" part once in a function, then use it multiple times.

I appreciate the value of repetition in teaching, but: that repetition generally needs to exhibit some variety + spaced in time.
