Hi Malik, Max Knobbe just gave an interesting presentation on Sherpa optimizations at QCD@LHC: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1150707/contributions/5146313/ One of the things mentioned is that the Sherpa MCFM interface can be used for analytic one-loop corrections which would be faster than OpenLoops. So we should probably try to upgrade MCFM and reactivate the interface. |
@cms-sw/generators-l2 , we had disabled shapa to use
mcfm
( see #6662 , #6662 (comment) ). But we still havemcfm
in cmssw distribution. The version ofmcfm
in cmssw is very old6.3
(from 2012). As nothing in cmssw is usingmcfm
, so any objections on dropping it from cmssw distribution forCMSSW 12.6
and above releases? OR if we want to keep it around (for some gen-productions) then should we update its latest version to10.2.1
