⚬ PROBLEM:

YouTube recently changed Shorts to default to a new player instead of their traditional player, meaning many page tweaks no longer work

⚬ SOLUTION:

Redirect https://www.youtube.com/shorts/[VIDEO_ID] to https://www.youtube.com/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[VIDEO_ID]

⚬ ALTERNATIVES:

Make fixes such as speed changes that work in the shorts player

⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE:

I suspect that all desktop users would prefer the traditional player experience than the Shorts player optimized for mobile/TikTok users

thanks, welcome! you are the third person mentioning this. #1233 (please add any ideas).
you might be right it should be set by default for desktop users.
