Just an old github standard we add automatically. (The team can remove it when working on it.)
⚬ PROBLEM:
I'm always frustrated when I click a video in my subscriptions that is labeled as a short. It takes me to some silly reels page and I'm unable to change speed or fullscreen
⚬ SOLUTION:
Currently what I do is I right click the video, copy the video url, and go directly to the page but perhaps this could be done through the extension directly after clicking on a video short.
⚬ ALTERNATIVES:
The current alternatives are right click the video to get the URL or searching the name of the video both of which are a bit clunky
⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE:
I think this would be useful as a default feature for all PC users. Very few people want the desktop experience to be gimped by mobile centric features like reels. And for those that do, in the Youtube sidebar there is a shorts section that one can use.
⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS":
I can't think off the top of my head of anyone that would have an issue with this since if you access a video from your subscriptions you usually just want the video you're watching. The reels format isn't that useful. And since you lose features like easy access to comments, closed captioning, fullscreen, and speed adjustments I just don't see the value.
