I recently came across Polis and find it a great tool to get a snapshot of public opinion. However, I wonder if it could be extended with more deliberative features. As you have probably thought about that already quite a lot, I would like to ask you the question:
Why does Polis not allow users to comment on other users' statements, or to see the full list?
Is it because of simplicity, concise data structure, ... ?
To give some context, I am thinking of applying Polis-like visualizations to our Forum where users can comment on statements, thus allowing a full trees of statements (one tree per topic). What are your thoughts on this?
