I think its fine to have a cadence of updating the kola tests per each minor release of kubernetes. I'll update this once v1.4.0 is released in coreos-kubernetes.

Unless the current point release is flaky, I don't know how much we gain by always bumping to the latest point release. Any issues between point releases that causes these smoke tests to fail is likely the fault of the coreos-kubernetes repo or kubernetes code itself and likely not an issue with the OS components being exercised.

That said you can always register extra kola tests for different point releases by just adding the tag to the list of tested things. There should be no modification required of the setup scripts if you are within the same minor release.
