How are users assigned to an entry as an author?

Presumably the user feature supported is for the author?
If so, do you have to use the user ID with each entry which is uploaded?

You can set the Author of all entries run through a feed by including either the Craft user id, email or username in a node in your feed. Then, simply map this value in your feed mapping screen, and that user will be assigned the author.
