Spanish for Business: Spring 2018

I have been studying the Spanish language for 7 years now, however I am always learning new things about the language.
My minor in Spanish for Business has allowed me to expand and utilize my Spanish in ways that I will be able to
directly apply to my future.

Class Objectives:

Vocabulary specific to business

Business vocabulary for subjects such as: marketing, hiring, stock market, meetings, and more.

Grammar

Review all grammar, especially commonly made mistakes, such as por and para, similar vocabulary terms, and verb tenses.

Speech and Reading Fluency

We read through a textbook that teaches us about business, specifically in Hispanic countries.

We encounter real life examples of language barriers and discuss them as a class.

We give presentations to the class to practice our fluency in relation to these new materials.

This class has been enriching. I love speaking Spanish and being able to think and speak with a level of fluency that makes
something like a language barrier seem trivial. Being versatile in the languages that I can speak allows me to make connections with more
people, which is something I love about computers and technology. It allows barriers created by language, distance, age, race, and every
other difference disappear almost, because we are able to connect on a simple human level. Spanish is a special part of my life and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to continue to study it.
