First experiments with the 15Gbps fiber seem to suggest that we cannot saturate it, we need to find out why.

https://gitlab.com/VRTogether_EU/cwipc/cwipc_util/-/issues/71 is an old finding that may be relevant (but we seem to get better performance now than mentioned there, but the Mac M1 note is probably still relevant).

There is also the issue that something is leaking memory in the case of uncompressed pointclouds.
