The iPhone app (and I think the Android app) just saves routes when you've planned them automatically, rather than requiring a manual process to add them. In the listing which then builds up, you can swipe across one to delete it.
This has the benefit that an app crash doesn't lose the result, and the user can browse various route options they've planned more easily.
