Does anyone know what the pre-heater or ventilation service actions are supposed to do?

For my Audi e-tron 55 they don't do anything.
My best guess would be that it would apply to:

Pre-heater: Diesel cars with vehicle pre-heating (standheizung)

Ventilation: I know some petrol/diesel cars can also enable the ventilation remote to cool the car with outside air. So without actually turning on the AC because that is driven by the engine.

In my previous Audi e-tron 55 I had seat ventilation. It was combined with the climatisation. There was no different option in the app for the seat ventilation.

Ah okay, interesting. Well that likely explains the pre-heater, and interestingly in my audi app, the "Auto Seat Comfort" and "Glass Surface Heating" are sub-options of turning on the climate control.

I'm wondering if that's why the Window Heating function isn't working. Maybe the "Glass Surface Heating" and "Seat Comfort" need to be sent as options when the climate control command is sent.

This may explain the climater target temp option not working as "2940" seems to still be hardcoded. In the arjenvrh branch, i successfully modified this value to adjust the temperature to what i wanted.

The section that follows in the actions.py is for setting the target temp but it doesn't seem to replace the hard coded value in the section above. Maybe the target temp would have to be changed after the climate control is already started.

We can also see the "isMirrorHeatingEnabled": True is included in the start climate control command. I'm wondering if the "glass surface heating" is already enabled when the climater is started since it contains this option. I'd have to go check. That said, I'm wondering if there is another option that could be added to the climaterElementSettings for the seat heater.

You are right. I can set window & seat heating in the app as well. So I also assume it is an option of climater as you say.

I was going through my diagnostics file to see if I could find more info and options. First off, i found the following which appears to be related to the service actions. As you mentioned @tieskuh it seems my car doesn't support the preheater which is likely related to a diesel as you suggested. But this is info could be helpful in determining which features your car supports.

Furthermore, I found following Climater settings.

• targetTemperature
• climatisationWithoutHVpower
• heaterSource
• climaterElementSettings

If we look further into the "climaterElementSettings" we see a few more familiar options, and some unfamiliar:

• isClimatisationAtUnlock (unsure what this option does, but its always been false when I've seen this setting)
• isMirrorHeatingEnabled (This is currently "true" whenever sending the climater command. I believe this is the "glass surface heating" option)
• zoneSettings

If we look even further under "zoneSettings" we see "zoneSetting" with a zone for each quadrant of the car.

• frontLeft
• frontRight
• rearLeft
• rearRight

Maybe if we change "isEnabled" to true for "frontLeft" and "frontRight" and send this with the climater service action, it would kick on the seat heaters with the climate control.

@cyr-ius is there a way we could send this as additional data parameters with the climater service action to see if this works for seat heaters? I'd also be curious if we could make the "isMirrorHeatingEnabled" an option to toggle as well.

I could also go back to the arvenjrh branch and test some of these changes since i could modify these all within his custom component and report back.

So instead of going back and testing on the other branch, I thought I would do some tests using the Audi app and the diagnostics file out of AudiConnect/Home Assistant, and I believe I've successfully confirmed the options for "isMirrorHeatingEnabled" and the "zoneSettings" are related to "Glass surface heating" and "Auto Seat Comfort" respectively.

To test, I started by turning on the Climate Control through the Audi app, with "Glass Surface Heating" ON and "Auto Seat Comfort" OFF. I then pulled the diagnostics file.

• "isMirrorHeatingEnabled" is showing true
• "zoneSettings" > "zoneSetting" > "frontLeft" is showing false
• "zoneSettings" > "zoneSetting" > "frontRight" is showing false

I then turned the car off, and started the climate control again through the Audi app, but this time with "Glass Surface Heating" OFF and "Auto Seat Comfort" ON for both the "frontLeft" and "frontRight" seats. (I dont have heated seats in the rear). I then pulled the diagnostics file.

• "zoneSettings" > "zoneSetting" > "frontLeft" is now showing true
• "zoneSettings" > "zoneSetting" > "frontRight" is now showing true

Would love to see the zoneSettings implemented somehow into this integration.
