Hello dCache.org,

motivated by the recent issue (reported, discussed and resolve in #7559), my boss wants to make a feature request and would like to see dCache record directory changes in billing, too.

Kind regards,
Xavier.

Hi Xavier,

For such purposes, dCache already provides access files that keep track of namespace modifications. Why it should be in billing?

Hi Tigran,

because access files are very short-lived and billing logs are archived/exported. I understand that we could decide to retain the access files, too, similar to billing. Of course, if your stance is that access logs are good enough, then it is your right to dismiss this feature request.

Kind regards,
Xavier.
