having an issue finding a active -5v DC to DC converter that is higher than -300ma power output. The one that you reference (P78E05-1000) for the -5v version only goes up to -500ma. Will -300ma suffice since the normal negative ma draw on a standard 4A is -300ma anyway?

Last ones I used were the YLPTEC K7805-1000R.

I've also used the CUI P7805-Q24-S5-S.

But I'm guessing the 300ma would be fine, since it matches the original output limit.

Looking around the schematics, -5 is used on the 4116 Drams, Groms, and reset circuit.

And it appears the new R-78CK5.0-0.5 is a 500ma that supports -5v output.
