Does build but not run on Windows

Everything builds with nothing more then a few warnings, once I run a executable it crashes either instantly or after a few frames which also does not look like they do in Linux or WSL.
Once it crashes it grinds the terminal with a huge block of color codes or something

Included data:
echo $LANG says "en_US.UTF-8"
echo $LC_CTYPE says "en_US.UTF-8"
echo $TERM says "vt100"

notcurses version: 3.0.11 from (https://github.com/dankamongmen/notcurses/releases/tag/v3.0.11)

terminal name + version:
MinTTY 3.7.4 (Microsoft Windows)

This angers me greatly since I love this project, while as a mere mortal: need to use windows...
