I did initial setup - very intuitive btw, thank you... Anyway Once completed bindings and out of menu mode the joystick and throttle have no functionality... the axis show up and overlay indicated that I have manipulated the controls, but nothing happens in game... keep getting propmts for keyboard input..

I'm not clear on what is happening. What do you mean by the overlay indicated you have manipulated the controls and by you keep getting prompts for keyboard input?

Well, When I throttle up for example, the slider moves from zero to full, but the engines do not respond...

OK Making progress now, the main issue was the fact that I failed to rtfm...
