Currently, features and their labels in bed-based tiers are drawn on separate lines. This can lead to very large tiers in the browser where you can't compare tiers easily. Have you considered creating additional display styles similar to those offered by the UCSC genome browser (full, packed, squish, dense)? I'm not really sure what the difference between full and packed is, but squish and dense would be nice options for biodalliance.
